Community Infrastructure Development
The directors of Lenecon were extensively involved in community infrastructure development projects in the 10 year period after South Africa's change in political dispensation in 1994. This included research, design, community liaison and construction supervision of water supply and sanitation projects. It was during this period that Lenehan Consulting (Lenecon) was first established and has contributed strongly to our professional paradigm. Lenecon continues to provide consulting services to projects in the Pacific and Australia, particularly for the provision of water and wastewater services to remote communities.
- Bubulake Relocation Villages, Solomon Islands - conceptual design of constructed wetlands for greywater treatment for villages relocated by gold mining operations.
- Remote accommodation facilities, Central Queensland - design of water, sewer and stormwater services for permanent accommodation facilities at a number of remote locations.
- Rural community water supply and sanitation projects, South Africa - design, constuction, supervision and research of appropriate technology for water supply and sanitation in under-developed rural communitites.
- Mnweni Ecotourism Development - design and construction supervision of a ecotourism resort in the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa.
